Missions
Cornerstone EFC wants to obey the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) by making disciples. Disciples come from every nation, tongue and tribe. We as an individual church are not able to accomplish this goal on our own. We support various missionaries (some “home-grown” from Cornerstone EFC) in six countries as well as state-side missions support personnel. These missionaries serve with various mission agencies to fulfill the Great Commission. We consider it a privilege to support those who leave their childhood homes in order to carry out the mission of Christ. For 2010, 14% of our budget is allocated to missions. It is a high priority for our people.
In addition to our financial support, we encourage our people to participate in going out to the nations of the world. Various mission trip prospects arise throughout the year so that all will have an opportunity.
During the year, we promote missions in our Sunday morning services. Every third Sunday we attempt to highlight a missions program or person in order to encourage additional prayer and support for their ministries. This might be more frequently based on multiple mission events occuring during the month.
In the month of August 2010, Pastor Jack spent two weeks in Kaliffi, Kenya teaching at a pastor's conference. Below are the updates he has sent back to us:
