Ellen Burris Service

Nov 27, 2021    Matthew Wynthein

Ellen D Burris, age 71, was granted her angel wings with family by her side on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She was born on November 23, 1949, in Wendell, ID and was a resident of Casper, WY for 50 years. Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 49+ years, Robert (Bob), and her three children, James (Jim) Jones, Delicia Mathson, and Jennifer Williams. The twinkle in her eyes were her six grandchildren, Kevin, Lain, Rylee, Emery, Porter, and Wesley.
Ellen was a devoted wife, proud mother, and loving grandmother. She doted on her family and was happiest when her family surrounded her. She had many passions in life to include strawberry milkshakes, fishing, traveling, dancing, Elvis, Denver Broncos, Wyoming Cowboys and a special kind of love for Christmas. She loved Christmas so much that setting up for Christmas was a task, it took weeks to complete and weeks to take down. She was a spiritual person wanting to strengthen her relationship with Christ and in doing so was recently baptized in the river. She loved her church and was always looking for ways to be more involved.
Ellen worked for BLM for 29+ years, where she enjoyed traveling the state. Ellen enjoyed being a Wyoming Homemaker as well. It was here she shared her passion of making gifts for others and advocating for recognition of members in the community. She enjoyed volunteering where she was needed, especially at Veterans Memorial Museum where her father’s military recognitions are on display.
Ellen lived life through simple pleasures, playing games, being outdoors, and being with her friends and family. She had an uncanny ability to make you smile with her bright smile and her laugh. She always made you feel welcomed and part of the family. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew and loved her.

A burial for Ellen will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 2 pm at Memorial Garden.
